We have a 16 year old who had a stroke in utero and has struggled in traditional schools dues to ADHD, Dyslexia, etc. However, he LOVE to build things. for the last few years he has been passionate about wleding. The UA funding allowed him to pursue this passion. He is a junior and dual enrolled at our local tech college. Funding has allowed him to obtain all his supplies he needs for welding and at 16 he has already obtained 3 of his 5 certifications. He is exceling and the only student in his class to already pass these certifications. He will graduate high school with an AS and the ability to start his own welding business. Funding is also covering other classes in Spanish, STEM, Entrepreneurship and more. His brother will graduate architecture from FAU next month. His sister is pursuing her doctroate in Child Psychology. But, with the demand for wleding, we will be able to make a better living then both of them in a career he loves. Having the flexibility to choose our schooling path has been the perfect choice for our kids and allowed them to find their passions and combine them with their talents to make a deep impact through their careers in the future. As a mom of three homeschoolers, I am thankful for the ability to choose. The funding is the icing on the cake.

The education benefit form is simply restating what you input for every reimbursement anyways. It is a pointless step. I was denied for our child as well for this and the form was not even available when I submitted the expense. However I continue to wait.

But then after each "smaller" increment, they can leave and choose another program so if you need 20 students and lose 1-2 each month because they have the option to only commit to a shorter term, it cause more risk and work for these small entrepreneurs. This could easily put a microschool under. I think this needs to be addressed.

The fact that programs will not be paid until the end of their year long program is devastating to small homeschool programs and microschools. They need commitment for the entire term (not just a week or month) but if they ask for that they will not be paid until the term while Putting out money for staff, supplies, location, etc. This will make it impossible for many programs to offer direct bill. Is anything being done to address this?

I guess my confusion is in how it will work. Will the UA scholarship also act as an ESA? Are there any things that PEP students receive that UA students do not?

We were awarded FES-UA and FES-EO. The UA is for more. I have to except one. What is the difference between the PEP and UA? Trying to make the best decision.

We were approved for FES-US and then filled out the PEP form but our account still says FES-UA. What do we need to do?
